I loved this session so much. It is always my wish to be as much of a fly-on-the-wall as possible, and for this family I was mostly able to be an observer. They just did their thing. Tipped toys everywhere, raced around, played with cars and remote controls and more cars (and yes, Lucas sleeps in his bed with all those cars). Pulled Mums hair, got belly tickles, jumped on Dad, played peek-a-boo and watched ipad cartoons. Sounds pretty typical to me. And now they can remember it as it was. Real life at their place.
Seriously the most perfect clear crisp Auckland autumn morning. Plus a perfect little family. And the cheekiest little guy. And a visit to their little home. With the feline family member. She wouldn't do a photo with baby Connor but I got one of her by herself. Super pretty. Thanks for having me!
We had the most perfectly timed Autumn shoot a few weekends ago. So many scrunchy leaves to play with and BEAUTIFUL Autumn colour and light. It was lovely playing in the chilly morning with this family (I went to high-school with this lovely mum and haven't seen her since then!), and the photos turned out just right (despite 15 month old teething pain and reluctant 4 year old)!
I have said it before - I love maternity photography! The juxtaposition of emotions around the current family life dynamics and the anticipation of the new life ahead just get me every time. It's just such a monumental change, and I love documenting it.
I loved exploring the park with this lovely couple and their dog Rocky. We found lots of cute little pathways and spots for photos. I can't wait to meet their new addition in a few months!
I have so enjoyed working on these photos. Look at the big blue skies! It was such a beautiful sunny day. And such an awesome family! They ran down the beach, splashed in the waves, jumped off rocks and cuddled in the sand dunes. We needed to get Dad in lots of photos since he is usually the one behind the camera. Gorgeous kids with big sparkly eyes and LONG eyelashes, but Mum and Dad ended up stealing the show at the end of the shoot. The kids were exhausted and hungry, so while they had a snack, Mum and Dad did some posing. It was magical - they were giggling and playful just like a couple on their wedding day. So lovely to see.
And I can't decide which I like best from this little series below, so I'll show you all of them!
