I had a wee Mother's Day promotion I ran through Facebook, and invited all the mummas out there to tell me what they liked doing best with their family. I had so many wonderful entries, and it really was all the little things that shone through - snuggles/giggles/crafting/beach walks... the list was beautiful. I used a random selection application to choose a winner, and the Allan family it was! Their favourite thing was doing crafts and drawing with their two little girls. So I sat and watched them for a very quick mini doco session and caught some beautiful moments.
We had to reschedule this shoot FIVE times! They could only do Sunday afternoons, and EVERY Sunday afternoon for five weeks it was raining. But we got there! And it was so worth the wait! I've never had someone so intent on getting my camera as little miss Erin was. She was certainly determined! Then just as we were about to call it quits we wandered to the beach and she forgot all about me and was completely focussed on the SAND. I love babies exploring sand and enjoying the feeling so much!
It was a windy day at the beach when I met up with the Joy family who were soon to become five. But all the long hair blowing in the wind was a pleasure to capture especially knowing that only a few weeks after these photos, mum shaved all her hair off to fundraise for Leukaemia & Blood Cancer New Zealand. What a beautiful family!
